My Great Abortion Monologue

I have been debating Abortion on various forums for a few years now, and have come to several conclusions about the nature of Abortion, the Pro-Abortion (Rights occaionally a relevant attachment) Movement, and an action plan for Pro-Lifers. This post will be extremely long, so read it over with a good drink.

1. Employing Smoke and Mirrors

From the very beginning of defining the sides, we see smoke and mirrors being employed. In the very words "Pro-choice", we are already heavily vested in euphemisms. What exactly does pro-choice mean? Are you for say, school choice through vouchers? Never met a leftist whose ever said that. Perhaps its for the choice to raise your children as you see fit, free from the interference of all public school hacks trying to indoctrinate your children to have beliefs that run counter to your beliefs. Nope, leftists absolutely dispise anything that isn't state mandated, and have tried to rule that parents have no say in what schools teach their children. Never mind their issues with home school, that sort of independence from groupthink might be dangerous. It woul(in prd appear that pro-choice is far to vague to mean anything, but it is useful. "You're against CHOICE! No American could possibly be against CHOICE!" That kind of shrill cry is great for trying to gain moral authority, but it isn't an actual argument.

Here's what choice actually means: Abortion. Period. Pro-choicers have themselves, when approached with the above argument, simply says it means abortion rights. of course, that isn't what they yell at rallies. Of course, rallies are for silly chants and extreme jackbooted marches with "Laura Bush should have had Choice (read: an Abortion)" pins, not for intellectual debate.

Then of course, we have euphemisms for dehumanization, either minimizing the humanity of the child being destroyed or ignoring them outright, all done in "the name of compassion", cause, ya know, strong, modern women can fly F-16's but they can't handle an explanation of abortion that isn't watered down. You've all heard them, "a clump of cells", "just a fetus", "terminating a pregnancy". Each one more vague, inaccurate, or evasive than the last. "Women's health" is one of my favorites. I am unsure of when murdering your child was curative of anything, especially given all the sites out there devoted to post-abortion stress.

This doesn't even delve into the villianization of pro-lifers that goes on. No longer for NARAL press realeases and death marches, I heckled a pro-abortion event last march and was told my reasoning was that I wanted a "pure girl" for my wedding day. This wasn't an argument of mine and I was amazed this woman, having only known me for perhaps the 3 minutes I had been standing up, managed to make such a (woefully inaccurate) character judgement. Of course, maybe if the very title of their movement wasn't wrapped around in obfuscation and lies, they wouldn't have to rely on character assasination.

2. The Real Agenda: Completely Unrestricted Elective Abortion

William Jefferson Clinton has been credited with the invention of the "safe, legal, and rare" line. This was of course, just before vetoing the partial birth abortion ban twice, even after provided evidence it was never medically neccesary by the AMA, thus defeating his "no health clause". However, if you look at the actions of pro-abortion lobby, clearly they want anything but rarity given the number of propositions they'll fight.

I'm left unbelievably speechless by what I just found.

http://www.alleghenyreproductive.com/minor.html

"If you are under the age of 18, the law in Pennsylvania says that to have an abortion you need to either bring a parent with you to sign your consent forms of go through a process called Judicial Bypass. If you cannot or do not want to involve either parent, we can help you. A judicial bypass allows you to ask a judge to declare you mature enough to decide for yourself whether or not to have an abortion. Although that may would complicated or frightening, it is a fairly simple process and our staff will walk you through each step.

[...]

Then you will go in front of the judge. While you are with the judge, only the judge, your lawyer, and you will be present. The judge will probably ask you a few questions. The counselor wll have prepared you for the type of questions to expect. The judge will then give you permission to sign the consent forms yourself. So far, in Pennsylvania, the judges have never said no to anyone. The volunteer will then drive you back to the clinic and you'll have your abortion."

In short: Minor, do you need an abortion? No need to get those evil parents of yours involved, just contact us to get our judges and our lawyers to work for you. This mirrors their position on California's proposition 73, a parental notification law, where they thought parents even knowing their teenager would consider an abortion, they might go ballistic and kill or beat their children (as opposed to PP charging for the same thing).

If that wern't enough:

From: Dawn Eden

How do you want your abortion?

"We hope --and expect-- that in the future the popular culture will include complete information and perspectives on a multitude of abortion experiences. Women will be able to freely talk over their decision with trusted friends or family, get accurate information in health books as well as TV and movies, easily find a counselor, get abortion services readily, and enjoy seamless ongoing care. They will be able to buy self help books and DVDs or attend workshops on post abortion feelings. Taken together, women may find that they can piece together, on their own, the parts they need to create their own ideal experience including the appropriate emotional and physical recovery afterwards.

Interestingly, all of the options and the complete menu of packages we present below could happen today, not in the distant future. The future may yet bring us further options, new technology, and hopefully better birth control. The recent advent of abortion with a medication (now known as RU486 or Mifeprex) has already introduced the idea of different methods to have an abortion. Breakthroughs in genetic research, cloning needed body parts, and gene therapy will alter how we see life on a cellular level, and perhaps by extension, the issue of abortion. But what the future promises most is the open consideration of all aspects of pregnancy, without judgment and with compassion. Choice will finally mean choices. Some day, perhaps not too long from now, someone may be saying to you, "How do you want your abortion today?""

This is just how it starts. I find it interesting they talk about life on the cellular level and then abortion in the same sentence. How blind and amoral do you have to be? But wait, this monstrosity hasn't even started yet.

A follow-up ritual a year and a day later is included in this package.
$5000 "

You've rended your womb of life, now celebrate with a ritual! Just pray you didn't get pregnant and decided to keep a baby in the meantime... that might get... awkward. Note: Christians not from Catholics for a Free Choice not available at this time.

"7. Full Emotional Support-- Deciding to end a pregnancy may well be the most difficult emotional crisis a woman or couple may face. Our experienced counselor will spend 2 hours with you and support person of your choice, and your appointment will be scheduled 2-7 days after that. The counselor will explore relationship and identity issues, personal goals, religious and spiritual concerns and offer interactive skill building to you and your significant other. A choice of 3 self help books are included with additional suggestions for grief work and emotional aftercare. The procedure will be performed by an experienced and kind physician in privacy with your choice of pain relievers and sedatives. Or, choose to miscarry with medicine taken at home. ($100 extra.) Two follow up visits with our licensed and experienced counselors are available one week and one month after the procedure. Consultation by phone with the clergy or spiritual leader from your belief system included, if desired.
$1000. "

Note: Any concerns that might prevent you from having an abortion will be discarded. Can you believe they actually gie a "choose to miscarry" option? Unbelieveable.

"8. Discount Package-- A basic "no frills" package is available for those women who don't need ambiance or additional support. No additional sedation is available without additional cost. Licensed physicians perform the safe surgery in less than 5 minutes. Expect delays and waiting time. No support people allowed in counseling or medical areas. If you want to spend the money on something else, this package may work for you, but we encourage you to consult our website for a complete overview of the abortion experience.
$250, cash only."

No Qualms? Give us your money and get the heck out.

"9. Abortions Anonymous-- For the woman who wants to tell no one, keep it secret, and have no record of having been there, we offer an anonymous service with private hours. Counseling offered to explore any feelings and potential emotional side effects. No names taken.
$950, cash only. "

Note: Not neccesarily legal or genuine.

"In most utopian scenarios, price tags are not offered because we assume money will be replaced by a better system of valuation. We have included these imaginary prices, in 2002 dollars, as a way to think about what an experience is worth to us. "

So these people think we'll replace money before we get rid of the stigma attached to legalized murder. This is beyond the cuff of sanity. a $5,000 spirit journey for killing a child? What kind of madness is this. Words cannot describe how depraved this idiocy is.

Forget the post being long, I think that was pretty illustrative of what they want and what they'll allow. I will however, leave you with a bit of old news, PPGG's cartoon superhero killing off any opposition. Not only do they want unrestricted abortion, they think killing you if you disagree with their vision is morally acceptable.

The path is clear, we have to stop this nonsense at all costs. For more information, I recommend you read Ramesh Ponnuru's new book: "The Party of Death".

A Note on Treason and Hiding Behind Service

I persistently wonder what drives defenders of John Kerry and Jack Murtha to claim they cannot be traitors because they served in the military. Just like Cindy Sheehan, if you've suffered a personal loss or been there yourself, you can do no wrong and in fact, even when you are accusing our troops of raping, murdering, terrorizing, and killing in cold blood, you have de facto immunity because your son died or you were once a Marine or you served in Vietnam.

Let us hearken back to someone even the liberals would call a traitor, mainly because to deny it would be to rewrite history in such a way that noone, not even the masses liberals have attempted to brainwash, would ever buy it. The historical figure I am referring to is Benedict Armold. He is remembered as the foremost traitor in American History because he betrayed George Washington by bargaining with the British. However, Arnold was a military genius and had obtained the rank of General, which is a great deal more than "Rambo" Kerry can claim. George Washington himself actually had a great deal of trust in Arnold before Arnold squandered his wealth and got into shady business dealings.

The simple fact is, America's best known traitor served for the very country he betrayed and had reached the upper levels of cammand in his tenure. The idea that John Kerry and Jack Murtha have a free pass because they were in the military is ridiculous. Arnold served more time than both of them combined and was still able to engage in traitorous activity. John Kerry was a traitor from the moment he got back from Vietnam. No sooner did he take off his uniform did he begin to accuse the troops of commiting atrocities unheard of, and yet John kerry seemed unblemished by the violence. Yes, indeed, anyone who criticizes the military is immune to their own charges during their time serving. Casey Sheehan certainly was not raping and murdering people as his mother suggests his comrades were, John Kerry was not terrorizing Vietnamese women in and children in the dead of night during his stay in Vietnam, and Jack Murtha was not killing anyone in cold blood while he was a Marine. If you follow the left's "logic", only those who defect from the military, run from duty, or come out and criticize the military afterward are war heroes.

The saddest part of this whole situation is our troops arestill fighting and dying for these ungrateful hacks. Thankfully, our troops don't serve to earn political brownie points or make a spectacle of themselves, they serve because they love their country and want to protect it's people. So often I hear calls of "If you support the war why don't you serve?". What, and let those ungrateful talking heads and socialists sell our military dry with their votes while in the safety and security of their own fantasy land? Fat chance. When Al Gore and all his environmentalist cult stops flying gaz-guzzling jets across the country to condemn the rest of us for causing global warming, then I might think of serving in the military just for the sake of "serving the cause". I have chosen not to serve because I choose to be a civilian, and thankfully we have a volunteer army which has fought to preserve that choice. Were the draft to be reinstated however, you can bet your bullets I'd be there to serve my country the same as if I had volunteered for it.

La Reparations, La Raza, y La Gringo Guilt

I missed the hullabaloo over reparations that went on a few days ago, but I feel it is important to tie the idea of reparations in with the immigration debate because there are several important parallels.

Reparations

There are several problems with reparations logic. The first and most fundamental is it attempts to right historical wrongs by taking from the descendants of flagged oppressor races and giving it back to the descendants of flagged oppressed races, i.e. white people must pay for the wrongs thrust on black people. My family wasn't even here in the 1800's, much less slave owners, yet because I am paler than my fellow man, I would be forced to pay the debt for someone else’s wrongs to people who did not suffer those wrongs. This is collectivism at its worst, it is charging one group of people for wrongdoing another group of people. You could be taking from the descendants of white abolitionists and giving to the descendants of black slave-owners and it would still be justified under the simplistic group mentality of white = bad and black = good.

The second problem is where the money would come from. The pro-reparations lobby wants it to come from the government, but like most liberal causes, they fail to realize that the government has no money except that which it takes from the people. You'd essentially be making blanket payments to blacks from their own tax dollars plus the tax dollars of every other citizen regardless of their skin color. And who do you give it to, The NAACP? Given the inherent uselessness of the NAACP, it would be a waste of money to send them a reparations check; no black would benefit from it except maybe the already rich upper echelons of the organization.

Dave Barber suggested we have a day of remembrance to serve as reparations instead of cash payments. While this certainly avoids the trouble with monetary reparations, exactly what do you call this day? National Slavery Abolishment Day? As far as I'm concerned there are already two days which celebrate that, Independence Day and Memorial Day. Without America's existence slavery would most likely still exist under monarchies, and without the troops who died in the civil war for that precious freedom there would be no freedom.

La Raza

This brings us to La Raza, which is basically a more forceful Mexican version of the African American reparations argument. These Aztlan wingnuts, who have apparently never cracked open a history book are basically asking the Gringos to give them back land that is owed to them because somehow America "stole" it. They fail to remember they were severely beaten back by the Americans in a war in which we rightfully annexed already independent land, and all they have for their argument is the Hidalgo Guadalupe treaty from the 1840's, which they construe to mean that this was Mexican land "stolen" from them by what liberals today would call "an unjust and immoral war". Heck, if I recall correctly we had taken over Mexico City and La Raza should just be happy we didn't annex Mexico in its entirety.

However, that doesn't stop these hate-mongering fools from setting up schools with our tax dollars under the onus of "cultural diversity". These charter schools have no interest in actual education, and prefer to focus solely on social engineering, the wrongs perpetrated on Mexico by the gringos, and the general hatred of the gringo race. Much like the homosexual activism that goes on in schools that have fortunately not yet forgotten that schools are for reading, writing, and arithmetic, this sort of social engineering and revisionist history undermines actual learning and development in favor of creating a new generation of useful idiots supporting liberal causes.

White (-Gringo-) Guilt

Of course, none of this would be possible without the introduction of a new concept in self-loathing, white guilt. White guilt is the result of collectivism gone wild in a school environment where individual thought and critical thinking are not present in teachers, and therefore cannot be passed on to students. When you have social studies teachers talking about Bushitler instead of covering course material, when you have Science teachers showing a film calling the president an a-hole, when you have English professors who actively engage with their students in destroying property on campus that was legitimately put up by groups on that campus because their political message on abortion disagrees with your own, you know its a sign that the education system is hiring far too many persons not fit for the instruction of young (or old) minds. White guilt is at its premise a ridiculous notion that can only be maintained through indoctrination, intimidation, and brainwashing, all considered legitimate techniques by none other than the communists, the worlds bets known collectivists and the supporters of the single-most destructive philosophy known in the history of mankind.

Interestingly, only a collective of whites should be made to feel guilty for individual white crimes. If a black commits a crime, blacks should not feel collectively responsible for that crime. If an arab commits a crime, arabs should not feel collectively responsible for that crime. Even more strange is the out-and-out defense of arabs and blacks who commit atrocities and how they are somehow all whitey's fault. Not only are whites responsible for atrocities committed by the KKK, they are responsible for acts committed by the Black Panthers and more recently, Islamic Terror. An even more recent trend is that Europe is off the hook for white guilt; only American White Males should feel guilty for all the wrongs that Americans, Whites, and Males have committed. This gives Europe a free pass to blame America for everything while their "peacekeepers" rape eight year olds, their "human rights council" complains about Gitmo but turns a blind eye to China and Saudi Arabia (perhaps because they are on said council), and their "United" Nations sit bitterly divided and impotent.

In the end, the base cause of reparations, La Raza, and white guilt are the same, a sense of collectivism and the idea that America, Dead White Men, and Whites in general can do no right while Europe, Despots, and Islamofascists and their supporters can do no wrong.

Quick Introduction and Recent RI Politics

Hello everyone, this is my first post here and I've decided to introduce myself, some of my activities, and the most recent RI Republican election news.

I am a senior attending Bryant University,  I am the Chairman for the Bryant University Republicans, and I write articles for our school newspaper, The Archway. I am a Management major and a Political Science minor and am therefore heavily involved in political discussions on a regular basis. The purpose for this blog is to offer my insight on MA, RI, and National politics as well as any relevant political topic for which I have a passion for, including immigration, abortion, media & culture, and a general host of other issues.

Onto the main thrust of this post.

http://www.turnto10.com/news/9492583/detail.html

Mayor Steven P. Laffey is being challenged by the Republican National Senatorial Committee(RNSC) who filed an Federal Election Commision(FEC) complaint for a letter he sent out to the residents of Cranston in their tax bills, informing them of what he has done in the previous year in Cranston and warning them of signs to look out for in the future to make sure Cranston does not revert to its near-bankrupt status when Laffey won office 4 years ago. Laffey and his predecessors have sent out letters of this nature for the previous 50 years with no issues whatsoever. However, the RNSC considers this a "campaign mailing" for Laffey's Senatorial Campaign because it has Laffey's name on it, he is sending it to constituents, and Laffey signed it. Therefore, they argue, Laffey should pay the approximately $3000 costs to taxpayers that adding in the letter entailed.

Of course the dirty little secret is that it is Lincoln Chafee's cronies in Washington who are filing the complaint against Laffey, although they obviously won't admit it because that would do extreme damage to the incumbent's campaign in his primary race against Laffey.

This is ridiculous. Laffey is the mayor of Cranston sending a letter to the residents of Cranston on the issues of Cranston in regards to their taxes and changes within the city, in the same manner as he does every year and which previous mayors have done for the last 50 years. He is obviously going to sign a letter to the people of Cranston because he is the mayor of Cranston, and he is perfectly within his rights to inform the people of Cranston of what to look out for now that he is leaving office. The letter does not mention Laffey's senatorial campaign nor does it in any way address any issues outside of Cranston. This appears to be a deperate move by the Chaffee campaign (under the guise of the RNSC) to try and get Laffey out on a technicality, and it is going to fail miserably and end up biting Lincoln Chafee instead.

Worse yet, I was listening to Matt Allen (filling in for Dan Yorke) interviewing an NRSC spokesperson and what I heard (or rather, the deafening silence and hesitation) was astounding. If Lincoln Chafee loses the primary, it appears the NRSC is essentially going to give up on Laffey because they predict he supposedly can't beat Sheldon Whitehouse in the general election. A fat lot of good a Senatorial Commitee is if they'll throw in the towel before the race even starts. Perhaps it never occured to them that Whitehouse and Chafee are so similar that there really isn't a choice between them. It's either a RINO who voted against Bush, against Alito, and against the Republican Party in general, or a liberal democrat who would do the same thing only with the proper parenthetical letter next to his name. If these NRSC are the kind of hacks in Washington Laffey is talking about, I want Laffey in there so he can fix these toothless wonders and bring the fighting spirit back to the Republican Party. It isn't over untill the fat lady sings, and we don't need the NRSC slowing us down of they won't fight for a Republican candidate, regardless of what some poll says. Polls, as they are oft to do, change. Let me put it to you this way NRSC, the poll question is "If the election were held today..." for a reason.
